I dare say the odds of a fake beak coming into play are certainly low.  A real beak is even less likely, although much more disturbing.

Its been my personal experience that dog angst isn't nearly as interesting as bunny angst.  Particularly when the dogs have the plauge.

Also note: Cat Angst has been way overplayed.  Squirrels as well (a la foamy @ illwillpress.com) Perhaps Hamster Angst.  They're High strung.  I can see comic potential in that.
